EarthColor 2017-2018 Sustainability Report

The Challenge

Design a piece that tells the story and shows the effects of EarthColor’s sustainability initiatives over the past few reports. In the 2011-2012 sustainability report we introduced EarthColor’s sustainability initiatives. In the 2013-2014 sustainability report we showed how EarthColor integrated these initiatives. In the 2015-2016 sustainability report we showed results and how these efforts are now being used by other companies. The 2017-2018 sustainability report explains how biomimicry and the circular economy now take over. Biomimicry? Yup.

The Solution

Where do ideas come from? They come from observations, conversations, deep thought or a day dream. Maybe it’s a thought jotted down on a scrap piece of paper. In many cases they’re inspired by nature. That’s what Biomimicry is. The design and production of materials, structures, and systems that are modeled on biological entities and processes.

The Culture of [re]

A theme running throughout this Sustainability Report – reflects EarthColor’s commitment to ensuring that our planet and all of its resources are preserved for future generations. Think of it as a continuous flow of creation, cycling through a revolving system to regenerate and renew itself. Keep in mind a simple definition of the prefix “re” (anew, once more, again and again), and apply it to the concept of sustainability. Brands can be produced and used; then reused, restored, recycled, repurposed, remanufactured, and on and on.
